UTSAV is an annual Technical and Cultural Festival of Golden Group of Institutions to celebrate the spirit of cultural exchange, Team work and professionalism among students. Moreover this festival also provides platform to students to test their professional skills and explore their talents.  This festival is a test bed for the Social skills that are important to excel in today’s competitive professional environment. We are organising UTSAV and Live performance of popular Punjabi Singer “ PRABH GILL” at Golden College of Engineering And Technology, Prem Nagar, Hardochhania Road, Gurdaspur. Rules and Regulations for GOLDEN UTSAV- 2020


 General

  • There will be no registration fee.
  • All the participation’s must carry their identity cards at the time of registration.
  • No vulgar statement of performance is allowed and this will lead to disqualification of team.
  • The colleges are requested to depute minimum one faculty member to accompany their respective teams.
  • No TA/DA will be given to participants.
  • Certificate of participation will be given to all the participants.
  • Any damage to college property/any other act of indiscipline shall invite strict disciplinary action.
  • Other events specific rules will be announced before start of the event.
  • The decision of judges will be binding and final.
  • Non participating students are not allowed.

Solo Song

  • Time duration 3-5 minutes.
  • Only one candidate is allowed from an institute to participate.
  • Participants will bring their musical instruments, if required.

Solo Dance

  • Time duration 4-5 minutes.
  • Only one candidate is allowed from an institute to participate.
  • Use of props is allowed.
  • Participants should bring their own CD’s, Pen drives to play music.

Group Dance

  • Only one team per college is allowed.
  • Number of members in a group can vary from 4-8.
  • Time duration will be 8-10 minutes.
  • Use of props is allowed.
  • Participants should bring own CD’s, Pen drive to play music.

Mimicry

  • Only one participant per college is allowed.
  • Maximum time limit will be 3-5 minutes.
  • Mimicry should be of famous personalities and should not attempt to heart the feelings of any religion caste or creed.
  • Vulgar jokes, obscene gestures or statements are not allowed.

Folk Dance

  • Only one team per college is allowed.
  • Number of members in a group can vary from 6-10.
  • Time duration will be 8-10 minutes.
  • Use of props is allowed.
  • Participants should bring own CD’s, Pen drive to play music.

Extempore

  • Only one participant per college is allowed.
  • Topic will be given on the spot.
  • Participants will be given 2 minutes for preparation and 3 minutes for presentation.
  • Language for the presentation should be English only.

Mehandi

  • Only one team per college is allowed, comprising of one participant and one accompanist.
  • Maximum time limit will be 45 minutes.
  • Design pattern, booklets should not be used.
  • Participants should bring their own material.
  • Mehandi should be applied on palm side and up to elbow.
  • There will be no theme only creativity will be judged.

Rangoli

  • Only one team per college is allowed, comprising of three participants.
  • Maximum time limit will be one hour.
  • Each team has to bring own material.
  • Design pattern/ booklets are not allowed.

Poster Making

  • Topic for college making is (Ease of doing by digitization, Poster on cleanliness, poster on say no to drugs, poster on save water )
  • Only one team per college is allowed, comprising of one participant.
  • Maximum time limit will be 1 hour.
  • Participants has to bring own material like pastel, Poster, oil, water colures, chart paper provided by College.
  • Themes of Poster making will be given on the spot registration.

Flower Arrangement

  • Only one team (comprising of two participants) per college is allowed.
  • Only dry flower are to be used.
  • Maximum time limit will be 1 hour.
  • Flowers should have arranged on a particular theme chosen by the participant.

General Quiz

  • Only one team per college is allowed, comprising of three participants.
  • Preliminary round will be conducted, if necessary.

Nail Art

  • Maximum time limit will be 45 minutes.
  • No previous work should be done on nails.
  • Any type of copy will lead to elimination.
  • Participants must bring their own material.

 Choreography

  • The theme of the performance should have social relevance.
  • The team may not exceed more than 15 dancers. The contestants may introduce the composition.
  • The total time allowed to each team is 10-15 minutes.
  • The contestants have to arrange the musical accompanists/play ready music cassettes/CDs of their own.
  • The play ready music cassettes/CDs and playing electronic instrument should be installed much before the actual performance.
  • The contestants have to arrange for necessary costumes on their own.
  • The name of the college should not be displayed on the dresses in any form.

Collage Making

  • Topic for college making is (Environmental awareness, Technology today, Corruption, Nature and you )
  • Collage can be prepared in a team of max. 2 students and min. 1 student
  • Time limit for collage making: 1 Hrs
  • Collage should be theme based.
  • Collage making only on HALF size chart paper will be provided by college.
  • Reporting time: 15 min prior to scheduled time.
  • Participants are required to bring glue, color decorative material.
  • Make less use of pen, colors, pencil etc. (almost nil) and make use of other materials more.
  • Disqualification- On exceeding time or deviating from the theme.

Lan Gaming

  • No swapping or interchanging of team members will be allowed.
  • If all the members of the team are not present then the registration of the team will be cancelled.
  • They will be allowed to play only with the available team members.
  • No Cheat code will be tolerated. Cheating in any form will lead to disqualify.
  • Teams are expected to report in time on respective venue with their college IDs.
  • Team members are not allowed to change their seats.

Debate

  • One student from an institute
  • Topic will be given on the spot
  • 10 minutes will be given for preparation

Fashion show

  • Only one team per college is allowed.
  • Number of members in a group can vary from 6-12.
  • Time duration will be 20-25 minutes.
  • Use of props is allowed.

Logo Design

  • Topic will be given on the spot.
  • Candidates will be given 10 minutes for preparation.
  • A team should consist of only 2 members , Time duration will be 20-25 minutes.
  • Candidates are required to bring their own equipment (Laptop, software etc.

Selfie Challenge

  • Interested students can get themselves registered at the registration counter from 9:00 AM Onwords on 19-feb-2020.
  • Participants have to click their selfie at the selfie site (flex in ground) of Golden college campus.
  • Participants have to Post their selfie on their Facebook with check-in (location) and caption “Selfie at GOLDEN UTSAV”
  • It is mandatory for participants to like Golden Group of Institutions official page on Facebook. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be considered in the challenge.
  • Three participants with the most number of likes and shares on their selfie would be declare as winner of competition.
  • Participants have to share/forward their links of selfie with Golden Group of Institutions page at 2 PM.
  • Judgement will be done basis of timings, image clarity and most likes.

The annual function of Golden College was held on March, 2018. Preparations for the annual function were made a few days in advance. The program starts with the lighting of the lamp by the chairman and the other dignitaries. This shows the beginning of the program and the vice chairman of the college share few words with all. He also tells that we not only offers the best in academics but also encouraged an overall development of the student through various extracurricular activities conducted and taught by their talented and capable faculty members.

The Principal read out the Annual Report. The students are honored for their academic and nonacademic achievements. This program really leaves a great impact on everyone. The college after the grand success of the annual day hopes for another event to come which will be another exciting day for them. Their journey of the event never ends because the college almost gets every month something to celebrate for the student’s entertainment & development.

The chief guest gave away prizes to brilliant students and sportsmen. He congratulated the Principal and staff on the progress made by the college. The Principal thanked the chief guest and the function came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
